Is Universal Care Services registered with the appropriate bodies? Universal is registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We are approved providers of Home Support Services to Coventry City Council, Warwickshire County Council, NHS Coventry and NHS Warwickshire.
What Geographical Area does Universal Care Services cover? Currently Universal offers care services throughout the Coventry and Warwickshire area. Additionally, we offer language support services throughout the Midlands region.
What are your office opening hours? Universal Care Services offices are open from 08:00 until 17:00 from which time the telephones are transferred to the out of hour’s telephone number which will be contactable until the following day.
Does Universal Care Services have a complaints procedure? Whether a complaint has been made verbally or in writing, Universal Care Services takes this very seriously. Any verbal complaints will be investigated and assistance will be given to put these in writing if required. A FULL investigation will be conducted immediately. We aim to deal with all complaints within 28 days.
What happens if I have a fall or become unwell? You can feel confident that all staff have received training to support you to access the services you require. If they assess that you require an emergency service they will immediately contact the appropriate service and advise you of their actions. Care staff will also phone your doctor, district nurse or other health care professional to support you as necessary. Carers will always obtain your consent before contacting anyone on your behalf.
Can I still keep my pet if I have a care worker? Many service users have pets. We recognise the importance of pets in our service user's lives, but sometimes pets may react differently to our staff which is particularly true with dogs. We may ask you to ensure that your pet is secured away from the areas our staff are working in. We will discuss any concerns with you before we make this request.
